What is woke culture

What is woke culture, according to the Right-wing media, Woke-ness is weakness, a weakness displayed only by do-good-as, champagne socialist, Knee taking, progressives,

Progressives that are only interested in minority rights, LGBT and gender equality.

So right-wing populist, posing as journalist are fully committed to the “war on woke”, radio talk-show hosts enjoy clumsy far right rhetoric whilst covertly promoting Bigotry on morning Radio programmes. With the “left looking on in shock” as crypto fascist promote racist themes, and get away with it!.

What does woke mean?

The term woke was, used in the United states in the civil rights movement of the 1930-1960’s by African-Americans who used the term woke to describe sympathetic white American’s that where Awake to racial injustices suffered by Black American, under a Republican government led by Hoover and then Eisenhower 1953,

African Americans where racial segregated and made to use substandard facilities.

Today in 2022 Woke principles are pretty much the same, woke just means conscious and awake to political struggles which represents, tolerance, empathy, a right to freedom, happiness and fairness amongst fellow humans,

In short, it means a belief in human progression, kindness and in some ways I would say, “a noble cause”.

The Noble Principles of Woke-ness

We must start with the noble principles of woke-isim, freedom, tolerance, human rights empathy, and compassion.

These are the corner stones of decency, our humanity has progressed over time, for example 200 years ago, collectively humans decieded, an end to the human trade in slavery.

64 years ago, Strasberg gave humanity one of its biggest contributions to the progression of humankind. The Creation of the European Court of Human Rights 1959. (Right-wing pundits, dubbed it the beginning of the Politically Correct Brigade)

“The Human rights act” produced the founding principles of respect and decency, these are the right to life, to freedom from torture to freedom from enslavement or servitude to protection from imprisonment for debt, to freedom from retroactive penal laws to recognition as a person before the law, and to freedom of thought, conscience, and religion.

So why declare war on woke

So why have the Conservatives declared war on freedom, tolerance, human rights empathy, and compassion, in short “War on Woke” these are the cornerstone of civil society and are typically traits possessed on the Liberal left (Thompson, Willie 1997, Book “Left in history”) The right-wing mainstream media have done a great stitch up job on Left wing liberals (like me) in the public’s imagination,

on a mid-September’s morning 2021 I heard an outside broadcast by a LBC radio reporter on speech Radio, the people being interviewed where caught up in the M25 Insulate Britain blockade, The people stranded at the blockage where furious, some couldn’t get to work others where heading home after nightshifts, one man being interviewed said.

“Animal-rights, Greenpeace protesting Tree-Hugger, blocking the M25, so Lefty, Lovey “Do-good-as, can tell us how to live our lives”. After I had heard that, I found myself mildly entertained but fascinated with the words that where being used to describe left wing protesters, so I wrote the comments down, ill be honest it got me thinking, why people feel so badly towards Lefty Lovey, Do-good-as,

Lefty loveys where not quite like the Neo Nazi far-right skinhead, who just wants to put a boot on your face, if you don’t look like him, the far-right thug attacks people that look different to them.  In fact the 1970’s and 80’s, on British streets Black British and South Asian people, where chased beaten and sometimes killed for the way they looked.

 What is War on woke. ?

The war on woke was declared in an article on 16^th June 2020 by Boris Johnson, the piece was written by David Wilcock of the Daily Mail, ‘a Whitehall correspondent’,

Boris Johnson, was later followed by ministers queueing up to declare a “war on woke” Oliver Dowden Tory MP, Nadine Doris Tory MP, Liz Truss Tory MP, Jacob Reec Mogg Tory MP, the list goes on,

I think it’s safe to say that most of the Tories in my opinion, back the war on woke.

 

Why is their a war on woke

Why have the right-wing declared a war on woke? For the answer, to that question, we need to go back to the Brexit referendum of 2016 and The Trump election of 2017. (Slogan’s , like “America First” which galvanized the far-Right )

Steve Bannon is the founder of the Right-wing European populist movement. Called “The Movement”

The movement’s aim is to promote right-wing populism across Europe. The movements members are far-right :

Frances, Marine Le Pen, & Eric Zemmour both, are self-proclaimed white Supremacist, Zemmour has strong views on immigration and believes in “The Great Replacement”. The great replacement is a theory that says Europeans will be replaced by non-Europeans within a number of short years.

So what does the Pollical Left need to do now.

The Left-wing need to start by winning the Woke-war The war on woke was cast down on the unsuspecting unprepared Liberal Left by the Tories.

The Left-wing have had three years to catchup, understand Tory “Red wall voter losses ”, capitalize Nationalize and make gains on Tory failure. 

Brexit was the starting gun and the relay race was won, started with Xenophobia, fear then turned to cheer, “Get Brexit Done” was the winning cry as they crossed the finish line for a second time.

What did we learn? and how can the war on woke be turn against the bringers of the war.

So as you can see, to be woke, is to be “virtuous” (to be of high moral standing) to seek progression within the human family.

Still not convinced, ok then, let me give you a scenario, your recently divorced and your estrange partner doesn’t want you to have access to the children. Under the human right act   you have the right to family life, section 3 (1) of the Child Act 1998 you can claim a “child arrangements order”.

So, because you have evoked the “Human Rights Act 1998” dose that now mean that you are woke do you see. What, a, nonsense.

Time to own woke. As you can probably guess by now, Iam woke, and I say “Without our Human rights, there can only be Human wrongs. (Genocide, slavery, torture).
